The “Technical and ice sports” department has long lasting traditions in NSA “V.Levski”. Having in mind its many sections, it teaches in ten sport disciplines: motoring, cycling, chess, equestrian, archery, shooting (with pistol and gun), figure skating, short track, ice-hockey and curling.

The educative work of the department is conducted through lectures, methodic-theoretical and methodic- practical exercises. The curricula of the sections are conformed to the modern requirements, necessary for the preparation of wide-profiled specialists in all possible aspects in the area of physical education and sport.

The department prepares specialists in bachelor and master programs and for doctor’s degree.

The research work of the department is closely connected to the last scientific achievements in sport science. The teachers continuously qualify themselves in scientific titles and degrees. Subject of the research work are the physical, tactical preparation, training, control, biomechanical analyses, psychological preparation and others. Round tables and scientific conferences on different problems of the higher sport achievements and physical culture are organized together with the teacher’s and coaches faculties.
