Education of qualification degree “master”

MISSION
The Department of the qualification degree “master” :

1. · organizes the education of competitive specialists ;
2. · Internationalizes the education by applying the international standarts of education and scientific research activity;
3. · forms new knowledge about the application of modern technologies in sports, physical education, animation, kinesitherapy as well as management methods of approach  and mass media coverage;
4. · bases the national perspective in accordance with the european models and standarts;
5. · contributes for the qualificated education of the masters` qualification with competitive power of the specialists on the national and international labour market;
6. · offers possibilities of conformity of our masters` degree education with the european models and standarts.

GOALS

1. · Approval of the traditions and values of the bulgarian education.
2. · Transfer and adaptation of contemporary educational experience and practice in the education of specialists.
3. · Ability to work in a team, extending the knowledge of kinesitherapists for a more effective participation in a rehabilitation team, management functions in the field of sports, physical education and tourism, and as experts in the national and communal administration.
4. · Extending methodological knowledge for independant scientific researches and maganement of projects.
5. · Preparation for education in the doctors` degree programme.

PHYLOSOPHY OF THE EDUCATION

1. · Combines the elite traditions in the education with new knowledge of the processes and tendencies in the world today.
2. · It is based on the freedom of choise of credits and independant work.
3. · The results are indicated by a mobile self-control on given parameters.
4. · The result is a direct function of the activity of the specialist and the mastery of the teacher`s team.

LOCATION

The National Sports Academy "Vassil Levski" is located in Sofia, by the Vitosha mountain.The teachers` corpus, the sports facilitiesand hostel accomodations are located on the territory of the "Students`" municipality, more than 200 decares. The following facilities are located in the main corpus: a library with two reading rooms, a computer-based information centre, lecture and seminar rooms. The number and the transfer of credits with the ECTS is co-ordinated by the department of international collabоration. The following bases also serve the educational process: the summer base near Nesebar and the winter base at Borovetz in the Rila mountain.

The kinesitherapy specialists are being trained in the centre of Sofia in the building on Gurgiliat street.

The masters` degree programmes that the NSA offers (extra-murral and regular form of education) are :

1. · High sports achievements;
2. · Sports at school and for leisure time;
3. · Sports management;
4. · Sports psychology;
5. · Kinesitherapy;
6. · Sports animation in tourism;
7. · Sports journalism;
8. · Adapted physical activity and sports;
9. · Olympism and olympian movement;
10. · Systems of physical exrecises for spinal problems;

The masters` degree programme of NSA extends the foundamental, wide-profiled and specialized training acquired in the bachelor programme.In this programme the accent is put on the theoretical and practical scientific knowledge of the students, the suitability for realisation in the management of sports structures and volуntееr sports activity, the organization of the training process in sports clubs, sports schools, schools and others,  the organization of mass sport competitions for the different classes of society. The masters` programmes of NSA "Vassil Levski" helps students with their orientation towards the NSA doctors` programmes. The first master programme in NSA "Vassil Levski" initiated in octobre 1998. Seven years later the Academy has prepared over 950 masters in 10 different programmes.
