·          Chosen with competition for a full-time assistant in VIF “Georgi Dimitrov” in the Track-and-field athletics department in 1976

·          Promoted in chief assistant in 1979

·          Promoted in head assistant in 1983

·          Defended a dissertation for a candidate’s degree in 1984

·          Chosen for an associate professor in 1995

·          Defended a dissertation for doctor of pedagogic science in 2002

·          Promoted to professor in 2004

·          Chairman of the couches council of the municipality of BSFS – Sofia 1974 – 1976

·          Founder and first chairman of the track-and-field athletics club of NSA 1991 – 1994

·          Chairman of the united sports club NSA 1992 – 1994

Pedagogical activity

 

 

·          Track-and-field athletics teacher in the Track-and-field athletics department with a specially developed course for the problems in the medium and long-distance running and the problems of the developing of the endurance from 1976 till now.

·          Licenced lecturer of the European track-and-field athletics coaches’ association since 1991. Key lecturer in the annual workshops, seminars, conferences and congresses of the Association since 1991. Lecturer on the problems of training and fitness in the national Football coaches’ school from 1998 till now.


Trainer activity

 

·          Track-and-field athletics coach of sport society “Levski-Spartak” since 1969.

·          Coach of the youth national team of short and middle distance running from 1971 to 1974.

·          Coach of the Olympic section – women - short and middle distance running 1973 – 1980.

·          Coach for the physical preparation of the football club “Levski-Spartak” – seasons 1976-77 and 1980/81.

·          Chief methodologist of physical preparation of the Bulgarian Football Federation, responsible for the national and club teams of Bulgaria – 1979-1982.

·          Coach of the short and middle distance running teams of Sport society “Academic” 1983/85.

·          Head coach of the national short and middle distance running team – 1986/90.

·          Coach of the short and middle distance running competitors of the sport club NSA-KLASA from 1992 till now.

·          Significant achievements in his whole sport-pedagogic activities as a coach:

-          Svetla Zlateva – in 1975/76 placed 6th  in 800 m running event at the Montreal Olympic Games with an achievement of 1:57.21 min and the world record holder in 4 h 800 m in 1975

-          Two fourth places at the Indoor European Championship: Ivanka Bonova, 800 m in 1976 and Nikolina Stereva, 1 500 m in 1985.

-          National records of international value: in 1980 Nikolina Stereva – 800 m and 1 500 m indoors 2:00.12 and 4:05.46 respectively; and in 1984 Rositsa Ekova – 3 000 m outdoors 8:47.94.

-          The second place at the 1990 European Championship (athletes up to age of 21): Sergei Mitov – 800 m running.

-          The twenty-seventh place in 800 m running at Sidney Olympic Games, 2000: Vancho Stoianov from Macedonia.

-          The fifth place at the 2003 European Team Cup Championship: Dobrinka Shalamanova in 1 500 m running.

-          Twenty four titles from Balkan Track-and-field athletics Games in the period 1972-2003 in the short and middle distance running.

-          Once national champion as fitness football coach of the team of “Levski-Spartak” – 1976/77.

-          Two times winner of the National Cup, as a fitness football coach of the team of “Levski-Spartak” – 1976/77 and 1980/81.


Science interests

 

·          Third place in the national competition of young scientists 1969

·          Third place in the national competition of young scientists 1978

·          Second place in the traditional national scientific competition of the EC of Bulgarian union for physical culture and sport

·          Third place at the 2004 European competition for scientific developments in the track-and-field athletics field

·          Leader of the specialized scientific section on the short and middle distance running problems at the laboratory of track-and-field athletics of the Center of scientific and applied sport activities 1983-1990

·          Member of the research team of the national scientific subjects on the problems of the potentials of the human brain 1986-1989

·          Scientific adviser of the research team on theme 112 A on the problems of the accelerated development of speed endurance 1986/1991

·          Scientific adviser of more than 120 successfully defended bachelor and master diploma projects(works)

·          Scientific adviser of 8 candidates for doctor’s degree, from whom 3 had successfully defended and are approved with a decision of the Higher attestation commission, 1 has passed the official approbation in the Track-and-field athletics department and 4 has successfully passed the post-graduate examinations on the specialty.

·          Organizer of the following scientific forums:

-          European seminar on the problems of the highlands training in track-and-field athletics – Belmeken 1994

-          National congress “Sport for all and the health of the nation” 1996

-          Balkan conference “Sport, stress, adaptation” 1997

-          First, second and third international scientific congresses “Sport, stress, adaptation” 1999, 2001 and 2004.

-          Member of the Jury of the European Science Achievements in Athletics Awards since 2000


Publications, books, guidances

 

·          Author of over 100 publications on research and practical issues in athletics and endurance training in sport, among which 8 books and 18 publications in specialized magazines in Europe and the world

·          Chief Editor of the specialized scientific magazine “Sport and Science” till 1999

·          Member of the Editorial Staff of “Athletics” – a specialized magazine on Bulgarian and world athletics since 1999

·          Member of the Editors Council of “Athletics and Science” – a specialized magazine published by the Athletics department, NSA, and the Bulgarian Track-and-field athletics Federation since 2002

·          Member of the Editors Council of the specialized scientific magazine “Leistungsport” (Elite Sport) published by the German Sports Union, Germany, since 2003.
